Scientific and Theoretical Training
Courses focusing on conceptual, methodological, and quantitative foundations relevant to bioscience research.
Primer Courses
To build a strong foundation outside a student’s primary discipline, QMB offers targeted primer courses designed to teach essential theoretical and methodological concepts to non-specialists.
Depending on their background, life science students may take introductory courses in mathematics and programming, followed by primers in biophysics, statistics, and bioinformatics.
Students with a mathematics or physics background may take primers in life sciences and optionally bioinformatics, while bioinformatics students are encouraged to take primers in biophysics and, optionally, statistics.
All primer courses include hands-on exercises using real data sets.
Bonus Courses
Depending on the requirements of their PhD projects or personal research interests, QMB students may select advanced theoretical and computational topics such as Single Cell RNA (scRNA) Analysis, or artificial intelligence in Python.
