Agentic AI for Scientific Research in Python

12 hours, basic Python required

This course explores the emerging field of agentic artificial intelligence — AI systems capable of autonomous behaviour — and their potential in scientific research and discovery.

We will examine how agentic AI can not only analyse data but also formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and this way iteratively refine knowledge.

Topics include:

  • Understand agentic AI principles in the context of biology.
  • Design and code from scratch a multi-agent virtual lab that analyses literature, designs and evaluates mutations, visualizes structural impacts, and proposes validation experiments for a target protein or RNA.
  • Capabilities and limitations of AI-generated hypotheses and experiments.

Beginner to intermediate Python skills are required, this course also offers a great chance to further develop your programming abilities.
